When the Australian government needs to pay back its debt (from bonds and other securities), the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) simply moves money from one type of account to another.
They do the same thing when paying interest on the debt.
This process doesn't involve taxpayers or future generations, so they don't have to worry about paying off the debt.
